Hello, my name is Sholto Crow. I’m a designer and director.
Motion design and animation have been my focus for over 15 years. I studied visual communication in London and then film in Paris (where I developed a love of the French New Wave and Hitchcock) in 1996-7, where I also became fluent in French. After graduating I worked for storyboard studio Helicopter Grafix in the early 2000s, later becoming creative director of their sister company, Mission Control in Soho for 5 years and then of Quay Communications in Vancouver between 2008 and 2010.
I freelanced in London for 6 years before getting out of the city and setting up a small studio in my shed. From there I now direct and produce animation and motion projects for clients like National Geographic, Comedy Central, Formula 1, the BBC, Framestore, Comedy Central and others. I now live and work in a small village in Sussex, a short train ride from London. My first animated short, Martin, was made in my shed.
